A 500 years old building in the old ghetto: layers of bricks have witnessed hight tides, submerging Venice and retreating.

Venice as a symbol of the Anthropocene: a city built on water, with and despite water, fragile yet resilient.

In August 2023, UNESCO recommended adding Venice to the endangered heritage list.

A set of three paintings on silk crepeline made with natural pigments evokes the pristine lagoon, while black and white photographs and a mini photo-book entitled “ Phantom Venice ” denounce over-tourism.

“ I came to Venice because of its fragility. - But we are all fragile! Life is fragile. - Yes, I think I will work about fragility.”
