Cocon

European Heritage days, Lyon, France

September 19th to 21st, 2020

An immersive and cocoon space, where flying paintings on coton and silk softly touch the skin.

The art installation « Cocon » was shown during the European Heritage Days 2020, in Fort Saint Laurent, a 1830’s building overlooking river Rhône in Lyon.

Opened just after the first lockdown in France, the event took on a meaning of liberation.

In an ambient fragrance of cinnamon, a dozen of paintings on natural fabrics and mere fabric panels were intrically displayed and moved by wind from a fan.\nThe whole art piece gave the tactile feeling of entering a cloud in the sky.

The entire work was inspired by the natural setting around and the family story of the artist, rooted in this hill and river.
